Day full of updates today!
First of all bituz reached version 0.3. APIs are the ones who have enjoyed more updates. On API’s page you can see all the news about the APIs.
Now they are more secure and fast. If you do not provide any value for url or a wrong value (not properly a url), you will receive an error.
Consequently to these updates, also bituz’s Google Chrome Extension and Mozilla Firefox Add-on have been update.
Day full of updates today!
We want to provide you a service as open as possible and free. Unfortunately, this policy does not guarantee ,to the correct users, the protection they deserve. In this article i’ll explain our new rules to prevent spam and flood action.
Bit.uZ is a free service and you are not obligated to register, but now, for us, registered people have priority. For this reason any shortened URL by a registered user and logged in does not expire, neither if it will never clicked. On the other hand, shortened URLs from not logged in users will be deleted when:
- does not generate traffic and clicks for 30 days from the time of creation.
- it has passed more than 60 days since the last click received.
- the content is clearly spam or porn content.
This rules are active from today.
To avoid flood we are working about a script that regulates the creation of shortened URLs. This regulation will affect Bit.uZ core and Bit.uZ APIs, logged in and not logged in users.
We’ll set a limit of 6 URLs per minute (1 url every 10 seconds). We believe this is a reasonable and “human” timing and we hope that will not worsen your experience using Bit.uz. Flood controller will be activated soon.
